Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few questions frequently asked by my clients.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me here. I would love to hear from you!

Q: Are your services mobile? Is there a travel fee?

Miss Liv Makeup is proud to offer on-site services for all clients. A travel fee will apply to each booking, per artist; exact fee depends on location.

Your experience having your makeup done professionally should be stress and hassle- free, so I will always come to you.

Q: Do you have a team or will you be the makeup artist for my event?

I will be your party’s lead makeup artist. If you have a larger bridal party or have an earlier ready-by time, I then bring in a second artist for a few of the services. All artists working with Miss Liv Makeup specialize in a natural, refined makeup style and will provide the same high level of service for each client. Please reach out here so I can assess what is best for your event.

Q: Do you require a deposit to book appointments?

Yes, a 50% deposit for event/personal makeup and a 20% deposit for weddings is required to reserve your appointment.

Q: What are your hygiene and infection prevention protocols?

I have always placed great importance on hygiene, skin health, and properly disinfected makeup products.

Miss Liv Makeup has implemented the following protocols for each booking for your health and safety:

  • My hands will be washed and sanitized before makeup application.

  • Brushes and tools will not be reused between clients on the same day. Brushes are properly cleaned and disinfected after each job.

  • I will clean and disinfect my work station between each client.

  • All reusable tools have been properly cleaned and disinfected prior to each job.

  • No “double dipping” into product. Products are always used from a disinfected palette.

Q: Which makeup products or brands do you use?

At Miss Liv Makeup, I use products that are right for you, including the following beauty lines: Giorgio Armani Beauty, Nars, Make Up For Ever, Dior Makeup, Charlotte Tilbury, Nudestix, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Laura Mercier, Chanel Beauty, and am constantly updating my kit with the finest innovations in makeup and skincare.

Q: I never wear makeup and I’m nervous that I won’t look like myself. Are you able to do a minimal, natural-looking application on me?

Absolutely! I always speak with my clients before starting makeup to get a feel for their comfort zone.

For clients that don’t wear makeup often but want to look polished and pretty, I apply minimal product where needed and enhance your best features subtly. I promise that you will never look “cakey” or overdone, but fresh and like the best version of yourself!

Q: Do I have to organize the makeup timing for my event myself?

Once I know the time your group needs to be ready, I provide all of my clients with a detailed schedule for their group, including my arrival time.

Q: When will you arrive for my booking?

I arrive 10-15 minutes before every booking to allow time to set up my kit before starting the makeup. Punctuality is extremely important in creating a stress-free experience for my clients.

Q: Can you duplicate a makeup look from a photo?

Yes! We will go over the makeup look you envision in detail before the application and throughout the process to ensure you feel completely confident. I encourage my clients to bring reference photos so we’re both clear and on the same page for the desired look. I also have a photo album of examples pulled from social media, magazines, and celebrity makeup of the most popular looks at the moment for you to look through for ideas.

However, I always assess each client’s individual features and ensure I am first creating a makeup look that suits you and makes you feel your most beautiful.

Q: Do you provide products for touch-ups?

Every Miss Liv Makeup client will receive a lip touch-up kit at the end of their appointment to keep their look flawless throughout their event. Blotting sheets are also provided for clients with an oilier skin type.

Q: I want more than one makeup look for my wedding. Do you offer this?

Yes - if you would like to have multiple makeup looks for your wedding (for example, one look for your ceremony and a different look for your reception), please let me know in your inquiry.

Q: Can you come back to my venue or stay at my venue for touch-ups?

Yes! Miss Liv Makeup offers three different touch-up services:

  • Continuous Touch-Up Half Day Booking (4 hours)

  • Continuous Touch-Up Full Day Booking (8 hours)

  • Return On-Site Location for Touch Ups

To find out if any of these services are right for you and your event, please contact me here.

Q: When is the best time to have my Bridal Consultation and Trial appointment?

Your Bridal Trial can be held whenever you like! The best time is when you have most of your wedding details finalized, such as your dress and clothes for your bridal party so I have a better idea of your style and colour palette for the wedding. If you will be having an engagement photoshoot or bridal shower, this is also a great time to test how you feel in the makeup and see how it photographs.

Q: How long will my Bridal Consultation and Trial appointment be?

The trial will be up to 2 hours, including time spent discussing the makeup look and day-of details.

Q: How will you remember the look we did during my Bridal Consultation and Trial?

The Bridal Trial is a critical step in creating your wedding look, and every detail we discussed and product I used is written down after the appointment so there are no surprises on your wedding day. I also take photos of your makeup so I am able to recreate the look on your wedding day. After your trial, I make notes of any changes we may want to make to the look, as your happiness is my top priority.

Q: Do you know how to work with clients that have mature skin?

Of course! With every client, I ensure I am using products and techniques that only make their features look their best, and this is especially important with more mature skin. I have mastered makeup that will never settle into fine lines or look too heavy. My goal is to keep skin, eyes, and lips looking fresh and beautiful for every age.

Q: Do you provide “airbrush” makeup services?

I do not use airbrush makeup. I have worked with it in the past and I find I much prefer the finish and end result of traditional makeup and have perfected it so the makeup looks seamless and stays put all day.

Q: Can you do my makeup if I have eyelash extensions?

Absolutely! I often work with clients who have eyelash extensions. Keep in mind that eye makeup remover can affect the longevity of your lash extensions, so it’s best to use an oil-free remover - I recommend Bioderma Sensibo Micellar Water.
